Dime Novels.

Description

Dime novels were published from the middle nineteenth century through the early twentieth century and were largely pulp fiction aimed at a young male audience. This guide lists the dime novels held in Special Collections. The earliest novel dates from 1862, and the collection includes representatives of the major series through the early twentieth century. The guide is arranged in alphabetical order by title and author. Additionally, Special Collections houses a run of facsimile dime novels published by the Dime Novel Club and can be accessed under the series title Facsimile reprint (Dime Novel Club).

The collection is available to all researchers. Request materials for use in the Special Collections reading room.

All titles are cataloged and available through the University's online catalog. Call numbers are also noted in the inventory below.

Some items in this collection are stored offsite. Please request materials at least 48 hours in advance.
